UCLH Proton Beam

Client: University College London Hospital
Architect: Scott Tallon Walker
Value: £ 250 million
Completion: 2018

UCLH will offer the world’s most advanced form of radiotherapy with a £250 million hospital to bring Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) to the UK. With four double basements and a further seven storeys above ground level. Our upfront advice from Stage A to D and the initial saving of 8% to 12% on construction costs by using HPG has meant our value to the project has been appreciated at an early stage. Technical advice on fire engineering principles and acceptance of sedated patient transfers along with consultations with both LFEPA and the university fire officer has meant key stages have been exceeded.
